Identifying transferable manufacturing solutions to enable new product launch
Rather than invest in the development of new manufacturing technologies to enable a new range of products, our client wanted to explore whether they might be able to leverage existing technologies from different industries
What we did
Initially we carried out a structured analysis of the process steps involved in creating the new product. These were then used as the stimulus for cross-industry technology research, identifying a number of interesting opportunities.
Robust assessment of how well these could be used, or adapted, to achieve the required end-to-end process lead to a credible plan for how the new product could be manufactured.
