42 Technology is boosting its senior management team with the appointment of Jeremy Carey.
Jeremy rejoins 42 Technology following a six year career with Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE), the UK’s second largest energy provider. In his new role he will take charge of some of the consultancy’s largest-scale client projects as well as driving its new business programme for the energy and utilities sector.
Jeremy is an exceptionally driven and enthusiastic engineer and energy consultant who is particularly skilled in selecting the best technologies to solve a specific business problem, while at the same time minimising commercial risks. His knowledge, contacts and approach will be invaluable in expanding our client list and helping to build on our recent project successes in smart-metering, emissions monitoring and other fast-growing areas in the energy and utilities sector.
David Wilson, Managing Director at 42 Technology
Jeremy was initially engineering manager at 42 Technology before leaving in 2006 to complete an MBA at Cranfield University and to take up R&D and technology management roles with SSE. During his time with SSE he helped to raise development finance for new technologies and led some of the company’s most innovative projects in areas such as carbon capture and storage (CCS) and emissions reduction. He was instrumental in the development of the UK’s largest operating carbon capture plant at SSE’s Ferrybridge coal-fired power station and in a multi-billion CCS development project with Shell for Peterhead power station.
He started his industrial career in process system engineering for oil and gas facilities with Bechtel, following a degree in chemical engineering from University of Cambridge but has also spent time in a technology start-up managing new product development. In his spare time Jeremy is training for a divemaster qualification for scuba diving.
