In this month’s newsletter, I wanted to address a controversial subject: medical device donations to low- and middle-income countries. The donating or more commonly called ‘dumping’ of old medical devices has been dubbed morally reprehensible. So what can we do as medical device experts to reduce waste and improve the quality of medical device donations to those in need?
