42T’s Sarah Knight places well in Ironman Zurich
August 2014
Congratulations to 42 Technology’s Sarah Knight who competed in last month’s Ironman Zurich
We are delighted to congratulate Sarah on successfully completing her first Iron Man competition in Zurich on 27th July.
Sarah finished in 8th place in her category and 770th place overall. She beat 1,700 male and 200 female amateur triathletes.
Her finishing time was only 40 minutes behind the professionals.
40 minutes may sound like quite a margin, but given that the Ironman distance comprises a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bicycle ride and a 26.2 mile run (and takes around 10-11 hours to complete), it’s the sporting equivalent of finishing only a couple of seconds behind Usain Bolt!
The volume of training required to complete an Ironman is vast, so it was just as well that Sarah was able to combine her training with commuting along the 10 mile Cambridgeshire Guided Busway to St Ives, where 42 Technology is based.
Well done, Sarah!
